The Haunted Mansion
The Haunted Mansion
Let’s Talk Disney’s Haunted Mansion. From moving heads, to even a stretching room! All in this Haunted Mansion surely will make you want to come back.
You’ll walk into the ride and go into a stretching room, but is it actually stretching or is it just your imagination? If you’re in Disneyland you’ll be greeted by heads looking at you as you’re passing by in line, before the people who are riding in WDW (Walt Disney World). When you enter the ride line you see the Mansion, and its beautiful glass dome at the top of it. You’ll also see a carriage that was in the ride before the movie. Don’t be freighted by the ghost bride, she’s just waiting for you to finally join the 999 happy haunts.
Walt Disney said in his own words “It’s fun to do the Impossible” and this ride is just that. Walt wasn’t alive to see the Haunted Mansion when it was finished, but he was involved in the Modeling and sketching of the Haunted Mansion. I would recommend this ride for 5 and up, it depends on how you’re little one handles scare-type rides. The Haunted Mansion takes The Nightmare Before Christmas characters and decorates for Halloween to Christmas, this festive decoration is called ‘Haunted Mansion Holiday’. This event is only available in Disneyland. Your little one may handle this ride better during this event, it makes the ride way less scary than the original ride not during the event.
At Walt Disney World, when you’re in the line you see the Haunted Mansion. You also see the beautiful Glass dome on top witch you can see in the stretching room, you also see the gravestones with all the sayings on them you also see Madam Leota’s gravestone. You also see the carriage that was in the movie but it was at the ride first. As you enter the ride, you enter the stretching room it lowers down, showing pictures of unfortunate people. Next as you leave the stretching room you enter your doom buggy (Your ride vehicle), Then let the ride begin! You’ll be toured ‘by your host, your Ghost host *Evil Laughing*’ . You see head stones that turn their heads to follow you around the ride. After that you see someone trying to get out of their coffin. Then you see an endless hallway with ghouls trying to get out of the locked doors they’re stuck in. As you enter the ballroom you see dancing ghosts and Ghosts eating at the dinner table. In the ballroom, you also see pictures of dead people as well as a lit fireplace. Suddenly you fall out the window in the attic into the graveyard with people trying to get out of their graves. You see the Ghost Bride saying “Hurry back, Hurry back, don’t forget to bring your death certificate we are dying to have you! *Evil laugh*”. As you come to the unloading area, you see yourself in your doom buggy with another person, a ghost! This Ghost follows you back home until you come back to the Haunted Mansion!
The ride opened August 9th, 1969. As you enter your doom buggy, you are guided around the Haunted Mansion. From the attic, you fall backwards outside into the graveyard. All the scenes look like scenes from the movie. The movie came out 2003. Madam Leota still wants the spirits to give us a ‘sign’ and ‘ring a bell’ . In the beginning of the ride it starts out scary but it ends up more fun than scary.
Let’s talk scenes, My family has rode the ride a bunch of times here are our favorite scenes! We all love this ride, so what scenes make our minds go “how do they make that scene?”. My dad’s favorite scene is ‘The Dancing Ghosts Ballroom’ . My mom’s favorite scene is ‘The Graveyard’. My brother doesn’t like the ride, so he doesn’t have one. My sister likes ‘The Dancing Ghosts Ballroom’. And Last but certainly not least, My favorite scene is one of three choices, either ‘The Graveyard’, ‘The Dancing Ghosts Ballroom’, or ‘The attic’.
